I attended the very first class Anita instructed, and have since been practicing to her weekly schedule. Anita’s teaching style encourages practice with one’s authentic self. Her warmth and energy leaves me with a feeling of both calm and gratitude. Whether a beginner or a life-long yogi, all you need is a filled water bottle and a cursory for yoga. The rest will come from within.”

YOGI

ABOUT ANITA

My Grandfather first introduced me to yoga as a child after he left India to come and live with us in Toronto. He created space for me to learn yoga, as a time to play while building power & confidence. I also learned there are so many facets to being a “yogi” – most importantly, feeding others and building community.

I grew up in a spiritual home, based on Hindu principles. I traveled around Europe, India, Thailand, Hong Kong, Macau, Bali, Fiji and Korea and lived in Japan for three years where I attended a 10-day Vippasana silent meditation course. Living and traveling in Asia helped to enhance my understanding of Eastern Buddhist philosophy.

I attended trainings in Woodstock, NY, Chapel Hill, Toronto, Nashville and in Sedona, Arizona. These trainings combined a rigorous vinyasa practice with a personal search for wholeness.

I have experience teaching hot yoga, yoga for 50+, yoga for athletes (Duke), kids yoga, seniors yoga & rock climbers! I want to help people to shift their perceptions of yoga and experience JOY and FUN on their mats.
